To Be Sanctified, We Must Submit Our Will To Christ’s Will

August 5, 2015

Friends,
It should be a subject of great concern that there are so many “Christians” insisting that the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not teach that man absolutely must submit his will, on a continual basis, to the rulership of the Word and Spirit of God. (John 8:51 // Rom. 8:9) Indeed, because people want so badly to feel eternally safe as they (and their loved ones) sin, even those who promote Jesus are choosing to adhere to gospels that do not save. (Mt. 7:15-27)

The Gospel that saves (Rom. 1:16) commands that everyone is to obey this Gospel. –That everyone must believe in it and adhere to it. –That everyone must learn it, put it into practice, and walk in it, all under the tutelage and control of the Holy Spirit who uses the Word to instruct us.

It is about submission to the King. It is about doing what He says. It is about carrying out His commands. Only by this, will a person walk in fellowship with God. Only by this will a person get to know the Lord. Only by this will a person remain clean (purified / righteous / set apart from sin / holy / sanctified), belong to Christ, and inherit the Kingdom of God.

Again, it is by hearing the Gospel, learning it, believing it, submitting our will to it, and conforming our thoughts, words, and actions to it and the King, that we are transformed into new Spirit-indwelt creations who live the new life (John 14:23 // Rom. 6:1-7 & 12:1,2 // 2 Cor. 5:15,17) and by which we are saved. (Rom. 6:22 // Gal. 6:14,15 // Heb. 5:9 & 12:14)

“So we must understand the whole Truth before we are saved?” a person may ask. No, but we must accept and walk in that which we have, so far, heard. If we refuse to obey that amount which we have heard, then we have rebelled. Moreover, if we refuse to search for the Truth or refuse to continue to listen and learn, we have rebelled. If we rebel, we need to repent (renounce our rebellion and turn from it forever). If we sin unintentionally, or even rebel again, we are to take extreme measures, if need be, to cut off every source of temptation. (Mt. 5:29,30) If we refuse to do these things, we have rebelled against God. We have made ourselves His enemies and we will not inherit Eternal Life. (Gal. 5:19-21 // Ja. 4:4)

Here are just a few more of the many verses found in God’s Word that teach what I have just written above:

1. John 8:31-36 & 15:3 & 17:17 and Ja. 1:18,21,22 and 1 Peter 1:22,23 –We become and are kept sanctified by applying the Word / the Truth / the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2. Mt. 24:45-51 & 25:41-46 and Rom. 2:8 and Gal. 1:6-9 and Eph. 5:6 and 2 Thes. 1:8,9 and 1 Peter 4:17 –We are condemned if we do not obey the Word / the Truth / the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Alarmingly, way too many so-called “Christians” are teaching the exact opposite of that which is taught in the Word of God. Truly, the strong delusion spoken of in 2 Thes. 2:10-12 is already upon them –because they “have not believed the Truth but have delighted in wickedness.” (v. 12) Therefore let us not join with anyone who is polluted in heart, mind, actions, words, or doctrine. (Eph. 5:3-7 // 2 John 1:9-11)

For as the King will say regarding the rebellious, “But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want Me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before Me.” (Luke 19:27)

Sincerely,
with love,
Rachel
