It Is About Power For Righteousness

July 10, 2014

1 Cor. 4:20 says, “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.”

People, especially within their church circles, often like to throw around cliches which they think will impress others concerning their spirituality. However, knowing and serving Christ is not about words but about power. Oh, not the show-biz kind of power, nor the kind that twists others’ arms in order to get one’s own way, but instead the power to live a godly life –a life full of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17), and, having the very mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16), one of wisdom (1:30), perseverance (Rom. 5:3), and contentment. (Phil. 4:11,12)

Does this godly life come about through talk? Or does it come about by using the power of the Holy Spirit? Of course the latter. And does the Holy Spirit, who is holy, withhold His power from individuals so that they cannot help but sin? He certainly does not! –Not for those who are truly born again! Such people dwell with God through Christ, and are one with Him in spirit / Spirit. How can they accuse the Lord of giving them a lack of that which they need for overcoming that which He has ordered them to renounce and quit –namely, sin?

No, if someone who is born again sins, then that person is the only one to blame. For the Lord has given us everything we need for conducting ourselves righteously. (Eph. 3:20 // 2 Peter 1:3,4 // 1 John 3:6-9 & 5:4)

Israeliteindeed wrote earlier today about the power of God, hence I wrote about it as well. I encourage others to read her very good message by clicking here:
