Wretches, Step Into The Freedom!

July 4, 2014

Friends,
On this day when we celebrate the United States of America’s independence from the rule she no longer wanted, let us also think gratefully about the freedom from the evil realm which we have been offered (or already given) through Christ. This Message is to be explained and proclaimed so that all may understand it, receive it, and walk in the freedom for which Christ rescued mankind. Here is that True Gospel:

People are wretched if they are not in Christ, if they are not following Jesus and His commands. (Rom. 7:24) They are dead men walking. (same verse) They are entombed in sin, they are entrapped in the power of sin (v. 23), they are enslaved to sin’s lusts and commands, unable to break free. (v. 14-25) They are –as all men are who have not, by faith, stepped into Christ and His Kingdom, His rulership, His power– abiding in the sinful nature. (Eph. 2:1-3) For the sinful nature in them has not been sliced off. (Rom. 2:29 // Col. 2:11) They have not, by the choice which comes through “faith in the power of God” (Col. 2:12), died to the old self which contains the sinful nature. (Rom. 6:6,7 & 7:5,6)

Who is the One who rescues people from this enslavement to their old self (Rom. 7:24) –the self enslaved to the realm of evil and death? (Eph. 2:1-3) Praise be to the Lord! –it is Jesus, God-who-became-human, who does so! (Rom. 7:24) All who look to Him for deliverance, for freedom, for salvation, and do so with a genuine heart and the genuine choice to turn from sin to Him, will be set free. (John 3:14-16 & 8:31-36)

It is for our freedom –from sin, the law, satan, and the world (Rom. 6:18 &7:4 // Gal. 6:14 // Heb. 9:15 // 1 John 3:8)– that Christ died and rose! (Gal. 5:1) He paid the penalty of our sins (Gal. 1:4 // Heb. 9:15) –every single person’s sins (1 John 2:2)– who, through faith, step into His love and remain there through the obedience that comes through continuing faith. (John 5:24 w/ 15:10 // Rom. 1:5 // Col. 1:21-23) Through faith in this Gospel we are rescued “from the present evil age” (Gal. 1:4) and all its power! (Rom. 6:16-18 & 8:2)

This is the Good News of God! This is the Message of Freedom! This is the Gospel of our Salvation! Praise be to the Lord Most High!

Sincerely,
with love,
Rachel
