What Bliss My Philosophy Is!

May 20, 2014

Friends,
It is very alarming to see those who once professed Christ, His Gospel, and His ways, as the only Way, Truth, and Life, to be apostatizing to falsehoods and rebellion, doing so against God’s clear directives and doctrine found in His Word. Rather than believing the Eternal and tested Word of God, they believe philosophies of men! Rather than testing what they hear against what the Scriptures say, they test what they hear against their sinful desires!

“Oh, that sounds goooood!” they croon. “I can live by this philosophy. It tells me I can be myself and still be soooooo at peace with Jesus. Ahhh…. Finally I can rest from all the striving to be good. What bliss…” And off they fall –heavily into the arms of their god of sensuality, their god that encourages them to find pleasure in their senses –regardless of the fall-out. Regardless of the fact that it reaps for them eternal torment in the end.

Israeliteindeed has written a sobering exhortation today. Below is an excerpt, and the whole post can be read here: http://israeliteindeed.wordpress.com/2014/05/20/the-treachery-of-unbelief/

Is this not the same progression we see in professing Christians today? While God does have a few servants who remind us that we are well able to overcome all things in Christ, the majority of voices proclaim that we are victims of a God who has sentenced us to a losing battle until the day we die. Most choose to ignore the promises in God’s Word, and hold fast to the lying report instead. They complain against the truth tellers (verbally stoning them, if not literally), choose replacements teachers who tell them what they want to hear (2 Tim. 4:3), and return like senseless animals to the vomit they had once left behind (2 Pet. 2:22).While this may seem like average Christianity to those of us who have been pickled in this apostasy for years, it is really nothing short of treachery and rebellion against God.

No matter what a person claims, God’s Word says that God is not at peace with those who continue in their sin. (Rom. 8:6-8 // Gal. 6:7,8 // Eph. 5:6) In fact, they will be damned. (Heb. 10:26-31) What foolishness it is to make up one’s own “truth” and mock the Eternal God.

Sincerely,
with love,
Rachel
