Teaching That God Has Decreed Partiality
February 22, 2014
We know that the Creator of the universe, He who is the Most High God, is good. (Ps. 135:3) He is a good God, and not only good, He is perfect and does no wrong whatsoever. (Dt. 32:4 // Mt. 5:48)
We know that anyone who shows partiality, doing so based on personal preference, at random, on a whim, or because of a bribe, is not acting with justice. We know that anyone who acts deliberately unjust is not good.
We know that Calvinists (those who adhere to the doctrines of John Calvin) insist that God decreed, from eternity past, that the majority of humans are to be irrevocably damned for their sins. This they teach in spite of the fact that God’s Word informs us that Jesus’ work on the cross atoned for the sins of all mankind, and that this atonement is applied to all who accept that pardon through faith. (John 3:14-16 // 1 Tim. 2:3-6 // 1 John 2:2) We know that God’s Word also informs us that Jesus not only paid the ransom for every human being (1 Tim. 2:6), but that God, who shows no favoritism or partiality (Dt. 10:17 // Rom. 2:11), deeply desires that all people repent and be saved. (Ezek. 18:30-32 // 1 Tim. 2:3-6 // 2 Peter 3:9)
Furthermore, we know that in spite of this simple and glorious Gospel, Calvinists are insisting to us that God has purposefully withheld from most people the ability to believe and repent. This, they say, God has done in order for Him to receive the most glory possible because He is then (supposedly) justified in sending most of mankind to Hell for their “refusal” to believe and repent.
So, we hear the Calvinists teaching that God is supremely good even while He has ordered that most humans not be allowed to believe and repent, and this, even while He repeatedly pleads in His Word that all mankind do so.
Well, another thing we know –besides the fact that All-mighty God is perfectly kind, patience, compassionate, and good, as well as completely just, impartial, and perfect– is this: That Calvinists adhere to a absurd doctrine which has been handed down to them by, no less, a murderer, and this, in spite of the Scriptures informing us that murderers do not know God, do not possess eternal life, are children of the devil, and are inheritors of Hell. (1 John 3:10-12 // Rev. 21:8) Choosing to exalt such a person, and in spite of the glaring wickedness and nonsensicalness of attributing evil to God while pretending they are extolling Him and proclaiming His greatness (and goodness), John Calvin’s followers continue their arrogant march of Falsehood, claiming all the while that they are the ones who understand God’s Word and thus have the ability to explain the meaning of its contents to the rest of us.
Little do Calvinists apparently know how off they are in their doctrine, how contrary to Scripture’s revelation is their analysis of God, and how wicked and evil they are to teach that which is so opposite of God’s beautiful and precious Truth.
