Are You Choosing God Or Satan In 2014?

January 1, 2014

Well, for this first day of 2014, whom have we chosen? Have we chosen God, the true God? Have we chosen to follow and obey Him by pledging (genuinely) our (consistent) allegiance to Him, His Lordship, His leadership, His control, His commands, His Word? If we have made no choice, it is the same as choosing Self, the sinful nature, the world, other gods, sin, and actually Satan himself. For Satan is the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) and the controller of this world (1 John 5:19); so not only does choosing friendship with the world make oneself out to be an enemy of God’s (Ja. 4:4) and separated from His love (1 John 2:15,16) and deliverance (v. 17), but it is to be one with the devil. (3:8)

There is no middle ground. If a person is not a citizen of Christ’s Kingdom, he is a citizen of the devil’s kingdom. If a person is not following, loving, and serving Christ, he is following, loving, and serving the devil. If a person is not living in obedience to Christ, that person is living in obedience to Satan. If a person is not unified with Christ, he is unified with the devil. If a person is not one with Christ, that person is one with the devil. If a person does not belong to Christ, he belongs to Satan. If a person is not a child of God, he is a child of the devil. Anyone who continues to sin falls into the category of being aligned with the devil. Such a person has rejected coming into, or maintaining, a pure state, and has thus also rejected salvation. (Passages such as Mt. 12:25-37 & 13:36-43 // John 8:42-47 // Acts 13:10 // Rom. 8:5-14 // 1 Cor. 3:16,17 // Heb. 12:14-17 // 1 John 3:4-10 support the statements of this paragraph.)

God calls everyone to make the choice. Life and prosperity OR death and destruction have been set before each person –to choose one or the other. (Dt. 30:15,19,20) Choosing God is the choice to obey His commands (v. 16) and serve Him with all faithfulness. (Josh 24:14) If this is undesirable to a person, then the choice to serve the evil kingdom, whose leader is the devil, is the choice that has been automatically kept. (v. 15 // John 3:18,36) Such a choice is the choice of disobedience, and with this choice always comes the curse of death, destruction, condemnation, and damnation. (same verses // Dt. 30:17,18)

Can a person make the pledge to serve God and then think he is safe to turn from the terms of that pledge and disobey God? Absolutely not. Such a person, contrary to popular opinion, will be thrust from God’s presence and damned. (Dt. 29:19-21 // Jer. 7:1-15 // 1 Cor. 3:16,17 // Heb. 10:26-31 // Rev. 3:1-5) For God, and the rules of His Kingdom, will not be mocked. (Gal. 6:7,8)

Oh that people would stop deceiving and being deceived! Therefore may this be the year that more people get wise, make the choice and the pledge to follow Christ, and do so with committed hearts so that they will be one with Him forever.

with love,
