The Trees Sing & Clap

November 17, 2013

Today was a very, VERY beautiful day. The weather was perfect, around 80 degrees but not humid, and no wind. I went for a worshipful walk in the front pasture and took pictures of the trees with their bright Fall colors. The peaceful beauty made me think of Isa. 55:12: “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

Who does creation sing and clap before? Before the God of all the earth. As Ps. 96:12,13 say, “Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy; they will sing before the LORD…” And why? The rest of verse 13 tells us: “Because He comes, He comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His Truth.” Even the fields and trees take joy in God’s justice.

It is interesting to me that this morning when I got up before dawn, parts of Ps. 57:7,8 were going through my mind: “I will sing… I will awaken the dawn.” And I even began a post regarding singing to the Lord.

Is it not wonderful to think of God’s creation singing and clapping joyfully to their Creator and bringing Him and us delight as they do so?

with love,

This morning’s dawn.

The front field and trees in their song.

The lush green grass joins in the melody as well.

The trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord.

Our dog, Browse, enjoying the singing too as he heads for the pond.

Our dog, Matilda, running through the song.

Singing with branches stretched high toward their Maker.

A peaceful song…

This evening’s setting sun lights up the trees that are singing in the back pasture.
