Continual Submission To God

August 1, 2013

Here is a sober exhortation from Daniel, and used with permission:

Please listen to the appeal of the Lord. We’re either advancing or being destroyed. There is no middle ground for a believer in Christ. Either daily we are advancing in His Kingdom, or daily the enemy is destroying us. ‘Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober…’ (1 Peter 1:13)  This is not a message to bring about condemnation, but to examine our hearts before the Lord in these days, to examine our walk. “Therefore I will yet bring charges against you,” says the Lord, … But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols. Be appalled at this, you heavens, and shudder with great horror,”declares the Lord.’ (Jeremiah 2:9, 12)

There is a way for us to be victorious daily, if we will just consecrate ourselves fully to God in devotion and love. To really cry out to God, saying ‘from this day Lord, may you be my portion, may I live for you and you alone, may I eat your Word, and be as passionate for you and the things of You,  as I have been for the things of the world and other things before this time.’ May we truly repent from our hearts, and may we seek to obey the Holy Spirit daily as to how we should go about our day and as to how we should use our time. May we honor the Lord by asking Him how we should use our evenings and be led by His Spirit, rather than doing our own things. Gods ways are always right. ’10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’ (John 10:10)

Blessings in love.

God’s Word does make it very clear that we are to say and do exactly what Christ commands (John 14:15,23 & 15:10), just as He said and did everything the Father commanded Him.  (12:49,50 & 14:31)  We are to live exactly as Jesus did (1 John 2:6) –controlled by the Spirit (Rom. 8:9), letting Christ live His life through us (2 Cor. 5:15 // Gal. 2:20 // Col. 3:3,4), and living in and for the will of God alone.  (1 Peter 4:2 // 1 John 2:17)   If we do not, then we do not belong to Christ, and we will not be allowed entrance into Heaven.  (Matt. 7:21 & 12:50 // Rom. 8:9)

Therefore, what Daniel writes above is a helpful but grave warning to those who are forgetting that anyone with spiritually lukewarm deeds will soon be spewed out of God’s mouth.  (Rev. 3:14-16)

with love,
