Violet’s Africa Trip

February 7, 2013

My sister’s husband, Will, and their second oldest daughter, Violet, are in Africa right now on a mission trip. Last year, Jillian, the oldest, got to go, and now Violet is getting to visit the Hadza people whom Jenny and Will lived among for several years as they ministered the Gospel there. Similar to Jillian’s blog last year, Violet has a blog where their escapades can be followed. Please visit daily and pray for them to have safety, and to accomplish –in love and strength and health and blessings of all kinds– exactly what the Lord purposes for them. Here is the link:

Two verses that are wonderful to have memorized for such trips as these, whether we are the ones going or the ones who remain at home praying, are Ps. 121:7,8: “The LORD will keep you from all harm –He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Hmmm… what peace. What rest. Stepping into such promises by faith, God’s obedient children can be assured of complete safety everywhere we go and always. Then, should anything befall us which we feel is unpleasant, we can still rest in our Refuge, knowing that we are being held in His everlastingly strong, compassionate, and capable arms (Dt. 33:27) which can bring us out of the trial when His will in having us there is completed. (Dan. 3:16-27)

But we still pray for smooth sailing! And for an abundance of spiritual fruit! We pray because prayer is the means by which God has designed that He, though us, will do awesome things to further His Truth and Light and Deliverance and Love. What a privilege, but also, what a responsibility.

with love,
