Praise, Worship, & Thanksgiving Scriptures

November 26, 2009

Friends,
Some beautiful Scriptures to read on Thanksgiving Day:

Ps. 34:1-5 –“I will extol the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” Meditate on those promises as you read them. They are an absolute comfort… because they are true… because they are promised by God… who never lies.

Ps. 29:2 –“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.” I thank Him that He is splendid and holy…

Ps. 8:1 –“O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.” He is majestic… and this can be seen everywhere… for the ones who have eyes to see…

Ps. 19:1-4 –“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” The whole world can see God’s handiwork… and therefore all can know that He exists… and that He is a good and powerful God… One to be sought…

Ps. 68:32-35 –“Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the LORD, to Him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice. Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies. You are awesome, O God, in Your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to His people. Praise be to God!” Yes, praise Him! Thank Him! Sing to Him! His Word tells us to do so! Do we want to please our God? Then let us obey Him. And we will find that for His true born-again one, to do so is exactly what meets the real longing of our soul. It is a huge privilege, for it brings His presence down, surrounding us in perfect love, joy, peace, thrill, bliss, hope, confidence, comfort, and all other realities of happiness. This is also our assured eternity.

Rev. 7:12 –“Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever.” And from 5:12,13 we see that we can join the others in ascribing to Him: “Holiness, reverence, worship, splendor, majesty, beauty, wealth, kingdoms, rule, dominion, authority, and love to our awesome God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, who was slain!”

Yes, may all the peoples of the earth praise, worship, and thank Him!

Love,
Rachel
